Written by Jerrica Wagner

Congratulations! You have received the credentials for your Google Workspace Business Starter branded email. A branded email means your email address uses your website's domain name.

Note: Because you are using Google Workspace, we highly recommend accessing Gmail using the Google Chromebrowser to ensure you have access to all features.

1. Choose How to Access Gmail There are a few ways to access your new inbox. Choose the one that works best for you:

  • Web Browser: Navigate to mail.google.com in your preferred browser.

  • Other Google Apps: If you are using another Workspace app (like Google Drive), click the Apps Launcher icon(nine dots) in the top right corner and select Gmail.

  • Mobile Device: Download the official Gmail app from the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).

2. How to Create a Desktop Shortcut (Google Chrome Only) If you want to access your email straight from your desktop with one click, you can create a personalized shortcut:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account using Google Chrome.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the browser.

  3. Select More tools, then click Create shortcut.

  4. In the pop-up box, type a name for your shortcut.

  5. Check the box next to Open as window.

  6. Click Create.

3. Signing In and Navigating Your Inbox

  1. When prompted to sign in, use the new email address provided by Town Web and your password.

    • Tip: The best way to enter your password is to copy and paste it directly from your credential document to avoid typos.

  2. Once logged in, your main inbox will appear in the center of the screen. Other folders, such as Spam, Sent, and Drafts, are located on the left-hand menu.

4. How to Change Your Password

  1. From your inbox, click the Apps Launcher icon (nine dots) in the upper right corner.

  2. Click on Account.

  3. On the left menu, click Security.

  4. Scroll down to the How you sign in to Google section.

  5. Click on Password (you will also see when it was last changed here) to set a new one.

5. What to Do If You Are Locked Out

  • Standard Users: If you are locked out of your email, please contact us at [email protected] for assistance.

  • Administrators: If you have access to the Google Admin Console, you can reset passwords for locked-out users yourself:

    1. Go to admin.google.com and log in with your admin credentials.

    2. Navigate to Users.

    3. Select the user who is locked out and change their password.
